Part No b6252h6 is a right-angled thru-hole BNC connector manufactured by Amphenol. BNC connectors are quick connect and disconnect type connectors consisting of a male and female part that ensures quick mating with a quarter turn adjustment.
The BNC’s were originally designed for military use but gained widespread acceptance as radio frequency connectors for up to 1GHz. BNC’s consist of a slotted outer conductor and a plastic dielectric that increase resistance at higher frequencies resulting in loss of impedance and signal. However these connectors are useful when it comes to radio frequency connections such as serial digital interface video signals, aerospace and military equipment, and amateur radio antennas and test instrumentation. They provide an alternative to RCA connectors and can also be used for a wide variety of non-BNC consumer electronics and commercial video equipment with only the use of an adaptor.
The BNC connectors are highly adaptable and they can be used along with threaded connectors for better performance at higher frequencies. As a result they are often used in several digital recording studios where many components are synchronized via a word-clock timing signal. The BNC connectors exist in two types with impedance of 50ohms and 75ohms in order to match that of their respective cables. The two can however be made to mate with a minimal dissipation of radio signal when used at frequencies of up to 2GHz to 4GHz. A 96 ohm variant is rare but has applications in the aerospace industry as it is used in glass cockpit displays.
Only trust Proactive Components when it comes to purchasing a wide variety of high quality parts and equipment.
