Part No 15-01-040-4601 is a Micro card edge 40pin SMT box. Card Edge connectors are often used in printed circuit boards. They comprise traces leading to the edge of the board and are designed to mate or be plugged into a matching socket. They are extremely cost effective as they only contain a single discreet female connector and the ends of a circuit board form the male connector. They are ideal for serious, heavy duty and high reliability industries such as aerospace, aviation, military and medical because of their robust and durable nature and highly rugged and compact designs.

Other applications of card edge connectors include usage in optics and guidance systems, surface mount technology, on-board equipment and UAV systems. This particular edge box is made of mezzanine and has a backplane to daughter card design. It comes with 40 contact pins with a straight orientation, a 20 mm PCB distance and a solder reflow SMT termination type. It is made to work optimally at a voltage of 400V AC and 1.7A current rating.
