Product News June 12-3
Hello and welcome all readers to yet another edition of our blog. We are very grateful for your continued interest in the products offered at Proactive Components, Inc. Here are the parts for today:
Part No 15–pin-d-type-male is a 15 pin deluxe fully populated d-sub cable assembly by Amphenol.
Cable assemblies are also known as cable harness, wire harness or wire looms. They are a group of wires that are bound together by straps, electrical tape, cable ties, sleeves, strings or a combination of the aforementioned accessories. They have varying number of pins and these coaxial cables are used to transmit radio-frequency signals or electrical power. They are very popular in comparison to loose wires and cables as they optimize space utilization by being bound together in a non-flexible bundle in contrast to masses of wire extending over several kilometers. This protects the wires from the damaging effects of abrasions, shocks and moisture hence minimizing the risk of a short and facilitating easier hassle-free installation and repair. They are widely used in automobiles, aircrafts, spaceships, computers and construction machinery because of their safe relatively low-risk nature.
These particular cables come equipped with 24k gold plated contacts, DB-15 connectors and provide varying levels of shielding depending on your needs. They have a DB-15 D-subminiature interface that is specifically used for serial communication between computers and other secondary devices.
Part No 15-24-7101 is a 4.20mm mini-fit PCB receptacle manufactured by Molex. PCB receptacles are used as connectors in printed circuit boards. A circuit board has electronic components, conductive pathways and signal traces embedded and etched via a copper laminate onto a non-conductive board like material. PCB receptacles are used to mate with panel mount plugs and vertical headers and mechanically support installation of components like capacitors, resistors and other active circuit elements on to a circuit board. They are used in both through-hole construction and surface-mount technology where components are electrically and mechanically attached to the board via molten-metal solders.
This particular PCB receptacle represented by part number 51-24-7101 features blind-mate interface (BMI) connectors with a through hole termination style. It is made of brass and boasts of tin-plating with a white color resin outer texture. It weighs 2.079 gm and has a 4.20 mm polarized mating part.
